Privacy Policy
Thank you for your interest in Seraph (the “Bot”, “Game”, “Service” and “Website”), operated by the Seraph team (“we”, “us”, “our”). To keep the game functional and provide the best possible experience, we collect some necessary data from Discord users (the “User”, “you”, “your”) who have interacted with the game, as well as the respective Discord servers (the “Server(s)”) that Seraph has been added to.
Scope
This Privacy Policy outlines our policies regarding the data we collect via our bot, website, or any other software we have developed (collectively, our “Service(s)”). By using the Service you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Data We Collect
To deliver the Service to Discord and to our players, we collect:
User ID: The unique identifier that belongs to your Discord account. This lets us assign game and verification data to a particular Discord account. User IDs are visible to any Discord user.
Server ID: The unique identifier of each Discord server. This lets us assign game data and per-server settings to a particular server. Server IDs are visible to any Discord user.
Channel ID: The unique identifier of a Discord channel, used for per-channel bot settings and permissions. Channel IDs are visible to any Discord user.
Account verification data: When you sign in through Discord OAuth2 on our website we receive the data covered by the identify scope (your user ID, username, global display name and avatar) and record the IP address of that request. This lets us tie one game account to one identity and keep users who breach our Terms of Use out of the Service.
Payment data: If and when paid features are offered, we store the transaction data returned by our payment processor at the time a purchase is completed (for example a transaction ID, the amount, status, and the Discord user ID the purchase is credited to). We use this to deliver purchased items, provide support, and combat fraud. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
Data We Process But Do Not Store
Discord messages: Messages you send to, or in the presence of, the bot are processed in real time so the game can respond to commands and so we can detect abuse such as automated spam or self-botting. We do not retain message content beyond what is needed to process the command.
How We Use Your Data
We use the data above to:
- operate, maintain and improve the game and website;
- verify accounts and enforce our Terms of Use, including restricting or removing access;
- process purchases and provide related support;
- detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse and security issues.
Legal Bases (EEA/UK users)
Where the GDPR applies, we process your data on the basis of performance of a contract (providing the Service you request), our legitimate interests (keeping the Service secure and fair), and, where required, your consent. Consent can be withdrawn at any time by contacting us.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with service providers that help us run the Service (such as hosting and, where applicable, a payment processor), and where required by law. Discord itself receives and processes data as described in its own privacy policy.
Retention
We keep account and verification data for as long as your account exists or as needed to operate the Service. Transaction records are kept for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law. When data is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request — including a data removal request — contact us at support@seraph-discord.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under the minimum age required to use Discord in their country, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date below and, where appropriate, announced in our Discord server.
